Tomb of Tu Duc | Mausoleum of Emperor Tu Duc | Hue | North Central Coast Vietnam

Lies in a narrow valley in the village of Thuong Ba, 8 km from Hue, Tu Duc’s tomb was constructed in 1867. Tu Duc was a legendary scholar and philosopher and the longest reigning emperor of the Nguyen Dynasty. Towards the end of his life, the Emperor retreated into this tomb, creating a fantasy-land where he could compose poetry, hunt, and console himself through his concubines.

The tomb consists of scenic highlights, such as lakes, hills, pine forests and pavilion for composing and reciting poems.
