West Lake, the largest lake in Hanoi, is located right in the center of the city. It is a popular place for recreation surrounded by many gardens, hotels, restaurants and other entertainment centers. The nearby quarters are often full with imposingly large edifices occupied by elite Vietnamese and ex-pats.
