Established by King Rama IV, Wat Thammikaram holds Buddha’s relics as well as a Bohdi tree from India. Visitors come to this temple usually marvel at its notable murals which can be dated from the mid 1800s. The mountain is inhabited by a horde of monkeys that will accompany you in your climbing of the 396 steps leading to the temple.

The view from the top stretches west to Myanmar’s border, only 11 km away, and overlooking the waterfront of Prachuap. The temple is quite new and offers a wonderful view over the city and the sea.
