Pha Taem National Park | Plateaus | Hills | Deciduous Forest | Sheer Cliff

Covering an area of 140 square kilometres, this National Park features plateaus, hills, deciduous forest, and sheer cliffs. There are irregular shaped sandstone outcrops and beautiful wild flowers growing among the rocky ground.

Highlight of the Park are Pha Taem and Pha Kam which are located near the National park headquarters. There are numerous prehistoric cave paintings from 3,000-4,000 years ago depicting the traditional way of life of people during the prehistoric days including fishing, rice farming, human figures, animals, hands and geometric designs.

Pha Team is one of the world’s oldest agrarian communities with Ubon Ratchathani as the cradle of Northeastern civilisation. Recently discovered archaeological evidence suggests that humans settled in this area between 14,000-6,000 years ago. The park is covered by forest with dry evergreen forests near streams. The park is habitat for Siamese hares, barking deer, civets, palm civets and wild pigs and serow, which migrate from Laos in summer.
