Nakhon Ratchasima city or “Khorat” is situated on a plateau, about 260 km northeast of Bangkok. This is a city of various Khmer ruins and a gateway to the Northeastern Region. Nakhon Ratchasima and its surrounding areas have developed mainly due to its significance as a centre of governance and trade in the Khmer Empire which had spread its influence in large parts of the region.

This city is one of the top tourism destinations for Bangkok and nearby residences.
