The temple of Wat Phra Yai is located on a small islet off the north coast of Koh Samui. Connected to mainland Samui by a causeway, the temple is the site of the famous Big Buddha.
Built back in 1972 by the Local Society of Samui, the 12 meter golden statue sits high on a raised platform and is visible from miles around.
