Kuan Yin | Chinese Temple | One of the most visited attractions | Koh Phangan

Khuna Yin is a beautiful Chinese temple at the mountain viewpoint overlooking Chaloklum Bay, has ornate decorations and a statue of Kuan-Yin, the Goddess of Mercy is housed in the highest building. The temple is located on the road between Thong Sala and Chaloklum, and made up of 7 different buildings – each attractive and with extensive views out over the countryside and nearby Chaloklum Bay.

Legend narrates that a Thai lady was once asked in her dreams by the Goddess Kuan Yin to build a lighthouse on the road to Chaloklum Village to safeguard the fishermen of the area, who take to the waters of Chaloklum Bay.
