Birdwatching | Khao Yai National Park

Located only a few hours’ drive from Bangkok, Khao Yai National Park is Thailand’s oldest and one of the country’s largest national parks. It is home to some 396 migrant and resident species of birds.

Large open grassland areas in the center of the park offer some great opportunities for observing those birds that frequent the forest edge and get to see canopy-dwelling species that are often difficult to see from inside the forest. Khao-Yai birding is good and convenient throughout the year.

The most attractive birds includes the Crested Serpent-Eagle, Scarlet Minivet, Orange-breasted and Red-headed Trogon, White-crested Laughingthrush,Great Hornbill, Wreath Hornbill, Hill Myna, Red Jungle Fowl, Blue-winged Leafbird, Common Flameback, Black-crested Green Magpie and Bulbul.
