Chao Sam Phraya National Museum | Ayutthaya Historical Park

The Chao Sam Phraya National Museum in Ayutthaya is established by King Bhumibol in 1961. The museum was the first to present a modern form of exhibition and is the most important of the Phra Nakhon Sri Ayutthaya province.

The Chao Sam Phraya National Museum features 3 exhibition buildings, displays Thai Fine Arts and Handicraft from the Ayutthaya era.

A number of antique Buddha images are on display alongside local relics, carved wooden panels, Thai Buddhist Sculpture and other items from local temples.

Particular highlights among the early works include a seated Buddha in Dvaravati style (11th–12th centuries) and a colossal head of Buddha in the U Thong style.
