During the early Rattanakosin Era, Wang Lang-Bangkok Noi was the location of an army training found, and the soldiers training there practiced sword and stick fighting.

Two long-standing sword and stick fighting schools remain in the area, namely Sry Trairat Sword School in Ban Chang Lor community and Katanyuruk Sword and Stick School.
