Community Pavilions | Siriraj Medical Museum | Bangkok

In former times, there were public pavilions in each community, at which local people gathered during ceremonies and religious activities. These community pavilions consisted of two stories, with Buddha images displayed on the upper floor.

One side of this floor was elevated, allowing the Buddhist monks to sit, while the lower floor was left open, to hold a variety of local activities. Two community pavilions remain in Bangkok Noi community. Saladaeng Ban Chang and Salaronftham Ban Bu pavilions.
